    Mostyn, Llandudno – Mar to Apr 2026

    MiniPrint Cymru | Wales 2025–26 will be shown at two leading Welsh venues. The exhibition opens at Mission Gallery, Swansea, before touring to Mostyn in Llandudno.

    Dan will be exhibiting Home, Commute, and Work — three connected pieces telling a narrative set in the Industrial Revolution, reflecting the rhythms of today’s working life.

  • RBSA Print Prize 2026 RBSA GALLERY

    Thursday 26 February – Saturday 28 March

    The RBSA Print Prize celebrates and supports printmakers, providing an opportunity for artists to exhibit their work in the RBSA’s renowned Gallery

    Dan will be exhibiting the tense Tonypandy Riots, a print exploring the famous riots during the industrial revolution in South Wales.

  • Jacksons’s Art Prize – Extended Longlist

    25th Feb 2026

    In 2026 the Jackson’s Art Prize received a record-breaking 16,280 submissions from 110 countries, marking its most competitive year to date.

    Tonypandy Riots and Iron Worker were selected for the Extended Longlist, placing them within the top 4,200 works—the upper 26% of entries worldwide.

    Both pieces form part of an ongoing investigation into the industrial history of South Wales, examining labour, unrest, and the psychological and physical weight of heritage.

  • OPEN ART 2026 Exhibition – Queen Street Gallery

    7th – 28th February 2026

    Queen Street Gallery will be holding their eighth Open Art in February 2026. 

    Dan will be exhibiting the award winning Iron Worker, the tense Tonypandy Riots, and BC Ironworks – a collection of prints exploring the industrial revolution in South Wales.

    Iron Worker was awarded Highley Commended at the exhibition’s opening.

    Glenroy operates as a gallery space and hold exhibitions throughout the year and an AirBnB.

  • Royal Visit at Cyfarthfa Castle

    14th November 2025

    Daniel was presented to Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla during their visit to Cyfarthfa Castle for the bicentennial anniversary and the King’s Birthday celebrations, for his linocut print “Iron Worker,” which won Best Print at the Cyfarthfa: Juxtaposed 2025 exhibition.

  • MSS Charity Golf Tournament

    16th September 2025

    Dan will support the MSS Charity Golf Tournament, raising funds for Velindre Cancer Centre, as an official event partner. For the occasion, he has produced a custom hand-crafted winners’ certificate who help make the day a success.

  • Winner of Best Print Juxtaposed – Cyfarthfa Castle, Merthyr Tydfil (2025)

    May 23rd – Aug 30th 2025

    Dan’s linocut Iron Worker was awarded Best Print at the opening event. The piece reflects the industrial legacy of Merthyr and its lasting impact on place and identity. A powerful and personal work, Iron Worker resonated with audiences and judges alike.

    A regional open exhibition celebrating creativity across Central Wales. Dan exhibits Tonypandy Riots, Iron Worker, and Lincoln Imp — linocuts rooted in folklore, protest, and industrial heritage.

  • Art Council Wales – ‘Cyfarthfa: Juxtaposed’ Arts Prize Winners Announced – June 10th 2025

    Dan Thorne’s Iron Worker print has been awarded the Printmaking Prize in Cyfarthfa: Juxtaposed, a national exhibition celebrating the 200th anniversary of Cyfarthfa Castle Museum & Art Gallery. The exhibition runs from May to August 2025 and features 76 contemporary responses to the museum’s historic art collection.

  • Folklore Fairy Tales Myths & Legends – Queen Street Gallery

    An international group exhibition curated by Studio 40 exploring storytelling traditions from across cultures. Dan is exhibiting his linocut Lincoln Imp, a mischievous and richly detailed piece that draws on medieval folklore and the enduring power of legend.

    An open call exhibition showcasing a broad range of work from artists across the region. Dan exhibited Iron Worker and Lincoln Imp, two pieces that explore folklore and working-class history through graphic lino carving and strong contrast.
